This information relates to the number of staff days per month the total public sector dental health service practitioners operate. Public dental health services remained fairly constant from 2002-2003 to 2004-05, but Dental Therapist days have decreased each year from 2004-05 to 2007-08.

Mental Health Practitioners
Ashburton(S) offers a relatively small mental health service, centred in Tom Price. A consulting psychiatrist is available 2 days out of every 3 months, and a full-time mental health nurse services Tom Price and Newman. From 2004, an additional full-time Indigenous mental health worker has assisted the mental health nurse service.
The number of hospitalisations due to mental health disorders has increased between 1998 and 2001, and between 2002 and 2005.
