Diversity of small business in comparison to larger regional centres

 

In comparisons between Geraldton(C) and Port Hedland(T) in 2007, the largest differences occurred in agriculture, forest and fisheries with Port Hedland(T) having 5.5% proportion of business in this industry compared to Geraldton(C) 14.8%, finance and insurance (PH 3.2%, G 7.6%) and construction (PH 29.5%, G 18.2%).

 

In comparisons between Kalgoorlie/Boulder(C) and Port Hedland(T) in 2007, the largest differences occurred in finance and insurance with Port Hedland(T) having 3.2% proportion of business in this industry compared to Kalgoorlie/Boulder(C) 6%, construction (PH 29.5%, KB 18.1%) and mining (PH 1.4%, KB 9.4%).
