Hospital separations by reason for hospitalisation

 

Between 2003 and 2008, hospital separations for the majority of diagnosis categories listed remained relatively constant. The number of separations due to respiratory system diseases and complications of pregnancy have shown a meaningful increase during this period.

Hospital separations for 0 – 4 year olds

 

 

 

The most common reason for hospitalisations of children up to 4 years old between 2000 and 2008 were diseases of the respiratory system. Although, the number of hospitalisations for respiratory diseases have shown a significant decrease from the levels seen in 2002.
