Spotlight on Gascoyne

The Gascoyne Development Commission (GDC) is a Western Australian Government agency, under the Minister for Regional Development and Lands. The GDC's role is to achieve sustainable economic and social development of the Gascoyne region – A better place to live. The Gascoyne will be recognised as providing a great lifestyle and visitor experience through   its diversity, employment and investment opportunities, unique natural environment and climate.

Spotlight on the Gascoyne is part of a series of community indicator frameworks being developed in partnership between the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the nine Western Australian Regional Development Commissions, and the WA Department of Regional Development and Lands. The aim of the Spotlight Project is to bring together selected statistical information about each region, from a wide variety of sources, to provide a practical framework for use in regional strategic management and policy development.
