Student Retention Rates
The retention rate for Yr 8 is always 100% for all years because it is the base year for retention. In some years the retention rate exceeds 100% because there was a net increase in the number of students for that year.
The retention rate generally increased across the period from 2003 to 2008, showing an increase in participation at school. 2006 showed the highest overall retention rate of all years in this time period.

Student/Teacher Ratio
The student teacher ratio in East Pilbara(S) decreased slightly from 1999 to 2008 with a low of 10 students per teacher in 2007. In 2004 there was an increase in the number of teachers in East Pilbara(S) with the teacher to student ratio increasing to previous levels in subsequent years.
The number of female students overall dropped between 2000 and 2005, however increased to 2008.
