Total tertiary qualifications in East Pilbara(S) showed a dramatic increase in 2006, mostly due to a rise in certificate level qualifications; however all levels of qualifications showed an increase between 1996 and 2006.

Educational attainment
The biggest changes in East Pilbara(S) between 2001 to 2006 were the increase in the completion of Years 10, 11 and 12 or equivalent. Over this period the number of people who completed up to Years 8 and 9 also rose. The number of people who never attended school fell over this time.
