The largest consumers of electricity in the Pilbara between 2003 and 2008 were federal government combined and business. Average residential electricity usage fell overall during the six years to 2008.
Across the board average electricity usage of business combined rose between 2003 and 2008, with the number of business users also increasing. Port Hedland(T) and Roebourne(S) showed the greatest increases in 2005 and 2008.
In Port Hedland(T) an Roebourne(S) average electricity usage of total residential users reduced in the six years between 2003 and 2008, while Ashburton(S) and East Pilbara(S) remained relatively consistent.
