For the majority of elections within the Pilbara, the number of eligible voters remained relatively constant. However, Ashburton(S) in 2007 and East Pilbara(S) in 2005 significantly lower number of eligible voters particpated in local elections. This is because in these years, particular wards within Ashburton(S) and East Pilbara(S) were awarded uncontested, requiring fewer voters to participate.

Ashburton(S) had the highest average voter participation (35.7%) across the three voting years, followed by East Pilbara(S) (32.2%), Port Hedland(T) (18.7%) and Roebourne(S) (17.7%). The average participation rate of registered voters across the Pilbara was 21.1%.
