Despite having the lowest population of the four Pilbara LGAs, Ashburton(S) has the largest capacity for emergency accommodation in the Pilbara. East Pilbara(S) has a relatively low population compared to Roebourne(S) and Port Hedland(T), but has a relatively high capacity for emergency accommodation.
Port Hedland(T) with over 13000 residents, has the lowest capacity for emergency accommodation for only 4.5% of its population. Despite having the highest population of the Pilbara LGAs, Roebourne(S) has a low capacity for emergency accommodation, capable of only 7.8% of the shire’s population.
